How To Choose The Plastic Wrap Correctly
Aug 18, 2022
In daily life, plastic wrap is already an indispensable item in our kitchen, and there are many kinds of products on the market, which are mixed, and some are even harmful to the human body. So what should be paid attention to in the purchase, how to choose a safe and healthy plastic wrap?
The materials of the plastic wrap prepared on the market are mainly divided into three types, namely PE (polyethylene), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), and PVDC (polyvinylidene chloride). Among them, the most commonly used and safer is the plastic wrap of PE material. PVC adds a lot of plasticizers and other additives to make it thinner and softer during processing. Plasticizers are harmful to humans, especially men, and can cause severe infertility. It is the existence of these additives that makes PVC plastic wrap harmful to the human body. Therefore, such plastic wrap cannot be used for food packaging of cooked oils and fats, but can be used to package fruits and vegetables. The safety of PVDC is better than that of PE, and its stability is better. It is generally used for cooked food packaging in food processing, such as ham sausage and soy products. It is relatively rare in household plastic wrap.
The outer packaging of the cling film produced by regular manufacturers and sold in supermarkets will be clearly marked with the words "PE" or "PVC", and the "PE" cling film can be directly selected. In addition, there will be a QS logo on the outer packaging, which is a sign that the licensed manufacturer produces and enters the market. If it does not contain both of these two items and the code is blurred, it must not be purchased.
PE plastic wrap is generally more transparent in color. Although the PVC plastic wrap is transparent when it is torn open, but when the plastic wrap is wrapped on the roller, it will be found that the overall color is white and not transparent. However, due to the slightly different raw material formula of the manufacturer, the overall transparency of PE plastic wrap will be different, but it is more transparent than PVC. Therefore, when choosing, you can try to choose a more transparent plastic wrap.
